Facilitation tools & techniques
Facilitation can play an important role in ensuring a well-run meeting or engagement process. Useful facilitation skills include planning agendas, creating the appropriate group environment, encouraging participation, and leading the group to reach its objectives. Of course facilitation can also be used at the organisation, project or comunity level.
- International Association of Facilitators' resource pages They provide a great online guide to facilitation-related tools and resources. Good articles if you are new to facilitation include: Facilitation 101 by Ned Ruete, and Magic of the Facilitator by Brian Stanfield.
- Bonfire This is the latest issue of the International Institute for Facilitation and Change magazine. This month's issue includes the third and last article of the series by Ben Fuchs, Betrayal, Revenge and Forgiveness, an inspiring reflection on human behavior, a true life initiation. The second article, Checking Moods, belongs to Andy Langford's series and is a simple, well thought out resource for checking the "vibes" in a meeting.
